ADA Mispronunciation

ADA Mispronunciation

Issue
ADA mispronouncing the letter "A" as "ahh" when reading a route name such as "Commuter A"

Fix
The newer versions of the ADA app has a Data Feed for Phonetics field that can be used to correct pronunciations.

Create a data feed with columns - Word and Replace By.

Add a row with the word you want to replace.

Use the data feed in the ADA app and the pronunciation will be corrected.

When replacing the single letter "A", in order to get it to pronounce it like you would when saying "a cat":

1. Put "A", without quotes marks in the Word column.

2. Put "A.", with the period and no quotes, in the Replace By column

Notes
Using letter combinations in the Replace by column like "ey" will cause the ADA app to read it like "E" "Y".

This may also work for other mispronounced individual letters, such as if the ADA app was pronouncing "Route i" as "Route "ee".
