Updating OnSign Live Player


This guide explains the process of updating OnSign app to the latest version available on the website.

A live player is an active player that is currently serving at a client at their location. 


Update the OnSign version on Demo Player and test the campaigns that are running on the live player and monitor the campaigns. If all the campaigns are running without any issues then proceed with updating OnSign on Live Player, once approved by Development Manager (Philip Kovoor).


Method 1 : Automatic Update


  1. Log on to OnSign.tv with provided Username & Password. 





  1. Select the player which needs to be updated, cross verify and note the current Player Version in the player information section.




  1. Select Settings from the side bar menu, and click on the Update Software button available on the top right corner. This process will take a few minutes.





  1. Go back to player status and see if the OnSign version is updated




  1. Monitor the Live Player campaigns for 24 Hrs and make sure the campaigns are running without any issues. 


If Automatic update is not updating the OnSign version due to storage or network issue, then inform the DEV Team and update the app manually.


Method 2 : Manual Update


  1. Log on to OnSign.tv with provided Username & Password and go to the player that you want to update. 


  1. Click on the remote view of the player from the side bar menu and also enable the high resolution tab.




  1. Once the page shows a remote view of the player, click on the Press Back button on the top right side of the remote view.





  1. Click 8 times on MPM Logo and select the Application menu.








  1. Open any browser and go to the link given below :   

           https://onsign.tv/downloads


           Download the latest version of OnSign App based on the player Operating 

           System. You can check the player OS under Player status.




  1. To locate the downloaded file press "Home" and go to "File Manager"




  1. After opening File Manager/file explorer, go to Downloads and double click on the OnSign file you just downloaded.




  1. Click on the Install option





  1. After installation click on "Press Home" and wait for 15 Sec to run the campaigns in OnSign App


  1. Verify the player version in player status page and check if the OnSign version is updated.





  1. Monitor the Live Player campaigns for 24 Hrs and make sure the campaigns are running without any issues. 



NOTE : If any issue occurs, please report it to the Development Team immediately.
